Privacy Policy
Morning Altars · Effective October 9, 2026
Morning Altars ("Morning Altars," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, join our email list, apply for or purchase our offerings, or otherwise interact with us, and how we use, share, and protect that information. It also describes the choices and rights you have over your information.
By using morningaltars.com (the "Site") or sharing your information with us, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit your information.
1. Who we are
Morning Altars is a US-based creative and educational practice founded by Day Schildkret, offering a newsletter, online courses, teacher training, live practices, and related content. For privacy purposes, Morning Altars is the "controller" of your personal information — meaning we decide how and why it is processed. You can reach us any time at help@morningaltars.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
Email list & account details: your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account.
Applications & forms: information you provide when you apply for a program or complete a form (for example, via Typeform) — which may include your name, contact details, and your written responses.
Purchases: when you buy a course, training, or other offering, we (or our payment and course providers) collect your billing details and purchase history. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves; payments are handled by our payment processor.
Community content: if you join a course or community hosted on Mighty Networks, the profile details, posts, comments, and other content you choose to share there.
Communications: messages you send us by email or through the Site.
Information collected automatically
Usage & device data: when you visit the Site, we and our providers automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring pages.
Cookies & similar technologies: our website platform (Squarespace) and our analytics and advertising tools use cookies and pixels to run the Site, measure traffic, and support advertising. See Cookies below.
Advertising pixels: we use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel to measure and improve our ads and to show relevant content to people like you.
3. How we use your information
To send you our newsletter, updates, and content you've asked for;
To process applications, enrollments, and purchases, and to deliver courses and programs;
To respond to your questions and provide support;
To understand our audience and improve our content, offerings, and the Site;
To run, measure, and improve our advertising;
To keep the Site secure and to prevent fraud or misuse; and
To comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
Consent — for example, when you subscribe to our newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Contract — to deliver a course or program you've purchased.
Legitimate interests — to understand our audience, measure and improve our content and advertising, and keep the Site secure, balanced against your rights.
Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Morning Altars, and only as needed. These include:

6. Advertising
We advertise on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram and use the Meta pixel to measure results and reach relevant audiences. You can manage ad personalization in your Meta account settings and through your browser's cookie controls.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the Site may not work properly without them. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent to non-essential cookies.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your subscription or account is active, as needed to provide what you've asked for, and as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below). If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal record as needed to honor your opt-out.
9. Your rights and choices
Everyone. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing help@morningaltars.com.
US state privacy rights (including California)
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at help@morningaltars.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
EEA/UK rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, contact us at help@morningaltars.com.

12. Security
We and our providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Significant changes do not apply retroactively without a lawful basis.
